About the team

The current commoditisation of AI has huge potential benefits for content production. As such the AI team at VEED will be responsible for researching and developing features building upon these technologies. This is a new space for us too and as such our initial focus will be on the integration of existing systems rather than building our own AI models. However, this may change over time as the team grows. We are looking for someone who can bring plenty to the table, and grow the product. To get you started, we have some ideas as well!

Of course, you will have plenty of support from other teams, whether it is cloud infrastructure, rendering, frontend or backend, because we know that developing such features can sometimes touch the whole stack. You will have the opportunity to influence how these features are built and also to grow the team.

Being able to play around with what’s available out there, is important for us. So, as part of the job, there will be lots of exploration of software and platforms, and demonstrations of concepts, before you build them as features into the product.

We are especially keen on Video, Audio and Speech AI developments and technology, so staying abreast with this field is needed.

What you will do

• Explore, experiment and evaluate technology and platforms that operate in the AI/ML/DL space for Video, Audio and Speech
• Develop proofs-of-concept, and demonstrations useful for the products
• Develop features into the products, ensuring they are performant, scale-up and can be monitored
• Collaborate with third-party software/service providers
• Stay up to date with related technology

Our Stack

• Our backend services are C++ and TypeScript based, running on cloud infrastructure with GPUs
• We use FFmpeg for video handling and OpenGL/WebGL for rendering

About you

• Extensive technical background
• Experience with video, and audio technologies
• Good breadth of knowledge around AI/ML/DL, TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Experience productionising systems
• Software development and prototyping using some Python, C++ and TypeScript
• Excellent communication, both technically and to stakeholders
